Attitude for 15th March 2011

Attitudes are contagious. Are yours worth catching?” by Dennis and Wendy Mannering.

As most of my posts are about importance of positive thinking and attitude in life I am going to make a series of posts on attitude. Each day I will give you one quotation about attitude with my short comments about the quotation. When I am through with that I will start a series on something else. Time will show what it will be about.

So, attitudes that people have are contagious. This is due to the fact that attitudes have some energy of their own, some magnetism, negative or positive. That’s why we absorb attitudes of other people and they absorb those of ours. You have to be strong enough not to absorb an attitude of a person you spend a lot of time with. The only way to do it is to share your attitude with him/her more often than he/she shares his/hers with you.  At some point somebody will give in and accept another person’s attitude. Only two very strong personalities can stay together for a long time and retain their own attitudes. Other people just give in to the pressure and lose their attitudes by accepting other people attitudes.

The problem is whether those attitudes are worthwhile catching or not. Naturally we somehow develop attitudes that are more negative, just because we live among people who are mostly negative. It takes strength and persistence to develop positive mentality. But it is worthwhile doing, because not only you will change, but your change will influence other people to change. In this way you will contribute to our society turning from negative to positive. You can make this world a better place and you start the process by making your world a better place. How? By changing your attitude!
