God is great

Do not be terrified by them, for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome GodDeuteronomy 7:21.

What do you imagine when you hear the word God? What is he like? How much power does He have? Can He interfere in your life and change hopeless, miserable and pathetic situation you are in? Or do you think you have to fight for Him and defend Him? What size of God do you have? Do you fit in His pocket or He fits in yours? A lot of questions, but if you want to have a better understanding of who God is and how great He is you have to ask those questions.

To tell the truth it is very difficult to answer the question without knowing any information about Him. If you need to see the right size of God you need to look in the book of Genesis, where He creates the light, the sky, land and seas, plants and trees, the sun and the moon, all fish and birds, and finally human beings (you and me) according to His image and likeness. I hope you see the size of true God now.

So, if you think your god cannot protect you and save you, you’d better think what kind of god you serve. Is He the Creator of universe and the stars, or is he the god that you made. If you made a god, you are the creator and your god is your servant. But this kind of god is powerless to change your life and help you when you are in trouble. I am not attacking other religions. I do not have such intention. I am simply asking if you know the real God and his power. If not, it might be the best time to get to know Him.

Thought for the day 29th of July 2011

Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be doneMatthew 21:21

If you want to be a successful person you have to learn how to conquer your doubts and live by faith. Fear, negativity, pessimism and similar things are the opposites of faith. You can actually call them ‘negative faith’. Why is it negative? Because it stops you from being who you really are and doing what you are supposed and want to do.

Doubt is a thief. It steals your opportunities and your potential that God Almighty has given you. How do you get rid of doubt? Doubt comes in a form of thoughts. So does faith. When doubt attacks you simply turn your thoughts in the opposite direction. Start thinking positive thoughts. And doubts will disappear. Your concentration on some kind of thoughts will shape you according to the nature of those thoughts. If you want to find some nice thoughts on faith I would encourage you to read Hebrews 11th chapter from the Bible. God bless you.

Thought for the day 28th of July 2011

“…holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith1 Timothy 1:19

I hear a lot of people say that some Christians say one thing and do another. I do not believe one can continue living in such a way without losing his/her faith. Clear conscience is a must in a Christian living. It is a blessing for everybody, including you. If you have been leading a hypocritical way of life, you have to ask God for forgiveness and you will get it. Then be straight and true. Do not go against your conscience. Listen to what it says. And obey!

Foundation for positive thinking

Thought for the day 27th of July 2011

“God opposes the proud, but shows favor to the humble1 Peter 5:5.

Some of us would react very negatively by hearing the word humble. However, it is a very positive word. By being humble before God we simply acknowledge to Him, that what we have got is not our merits but his gift. We have limitations and we need help. Our faith and positive thoughts do have power, but the source that controls all the universal principles that most people try to benefit from is in God. Therefore, do not be proud, but humble yourself before Him. He can help you. He wants to see your faith and optimism, not arrogance. Let God give you a humble heart.

Fear not

“10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10-14 (New International Version).

Today I want to give you a message of encouragement and also inspire some hope in your soul. I see a lot of people bound by fear today. They are afraid of the future, of diseases, of losing work, of problems in their families, of thieves and other types of criminal elements, of natural disasters and calamities. Even if those causes for fear may seem quite illogical, people still are bound by fear. They try to find security from those fears in material things, social circles, medicine, television and many other exterior things. The foundation for the safety that those things bring is very unstable. You need some solid ground which you can stand on and not be afraid. What is your ground?

My ground is Lord my God. I trust Him and believe that He can take of all my troubles and protect me from all of my fears. His presence is with me. I feel it when I pray and the peace that His presence brings calms down all my fears. I do not have to protect myself. I have somebody stronger standing for me against my enemies. Who can attack me if the Lord of entire universe is on my behalf? Nobody! There is no match for Him. He is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. I am convinced there is nothing to fear if you have such a personality as your protector.

Is He your protector? If not, you can do something to change that. You have to make Him your Lord and Savior. I gave a prayer of repentance in my previous post and I would encourage you to read that. Later I will make a separate page with that prayer that anyone can pray and be born again. Make Him your Protector and fear not anymore.

On the brevity of life

Live every day as if it were your last and then some day you'll be right” by H.H. Morant.

Thoughts about brevity of life came to my mind today. You live only one life. When you die, your journey in this world is over. You will never come back again. You will either be in eternal heaven or eternal hell. You do not have much time to make a right choice. Jesus Christ is the way to eternal Father. He is the only path to everlasting life. Choose Him today by repenting of your sins and accepting His life into your heart.

I believe we have to be optimists and always expect the best. However, do not sit around just dreaming. Find your calling in life. Go after it. Ask God what He has purposed for you. You have a wonderful destiny from God. You will either find it or miss it. If you are not searching for it, you will probably miss it. Go to your prayer room today and ask Him to guide you. If you have never prayed in your life, start by asking God to forgive your sins in Jesus name. Then ask Him about His plan for your life.

Life is very short. You cannot risk wasting it. I live in Lithuania. In 2007 about 47 thousand citizens of my country died and passed on to the other side of eternity. Where are they now? I have told you about those two places. It’s your choice to believe or not. Every year about 45 thousand Lithuanians die. This is a nation of 3 million. I have a heart for my nation and I do not want them to spend eternity in hell. I want them to live forever with Christ.

What about you and your country? I am sure, statistics everywhere is pretty the same. In some countries people live a little longer, in some, a little less. However, whatever nationality you have: American, Japanese, Russian, Nigerian, Indian and etc. you will die one day. This day is getting closer, not further. Around 2.5 million Americans die every year. Do you want to know how many people die worldwide a year? Around 57 million! Where do they go? They do not disappear. They continue their existence on the other side of eternity. We will join them one day.

Let us not be fools and disregard warnings regarding the place we will go. If you get there, you will never be able to change your location. Choose your destination today.

If you do not know how to do it I will encourage you to pray sincerely this prayer:” Dear God I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior. Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.
Amen.

If you prayed the prayer sincerely you are saved. Now you will need to find a Bible believing church and attend it every week. I believe God will continue working in your life and showing you the path you have to follow. God bless you!

Thought for the day 22nd of July 2011

"The greatest thing anyone can do for God or man is pray" by S.D. Gordon.

I wanted to give a few ideas on prayer today. If you have serious problems which neither you, nor any other person can solve I would strongly advise you to pray. Prayer is the key to God’s heart. God knows your situation, but you have to pray for Him to stretch His hand and deliver you from your trouble. Believe when you pray and your prayer will be answered. He is waiting for you to pray. Don’t look at who you are. He is generous and gives without paying attention to your status or anything exterior. He loves answering prayers. Do not doubt, only believe!

Nice thoughts

Thought for the day 21st of July 2011

The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unlovedby Mother Teresa.

How much truth in the words of Mother Teresa! I hope you know people who are rich, but they feel very lonely. If you do not feel that somebody loves you, you are the poorest person in the world. If I am talking about you, I want you to know that even if nobody really loves you, there still is one person who loves you and has given His Son for you. That person is God. He gave Jesus for you. If you believe it, you will never feel long lasting loneliness anymore.

Today the message was short, but I hope you were encouraged by it.
