Attitude for 25th of March 2011
“Every thought is a seed. If you plant crab apples, don’t count on harvesting Golden Delicious” by Bill Meyer.
I have already written a lot about thoughts and the power of them. My blog is basically about the power of your thinking, so each day you can expect a message on the topic. There might be some repetition, but I try to add something new every day. So, your thoughts are seeds. Each one of them is. Attitude formation starts with thoughts, when some thoughts take root in your soul a certain type of behavior becomes common practice for you. It does not matter whether it is bad or good.
So, when the attitude is formed what you say and do are the fruits of your thinking. Feelings, words and actions are the consequences of your thinking. They do not come by chance. You choose to think certain thoughts and those thoughts bring feelings, words and actions according to the nature of your thoughts. So, if you meditate on all the evils that happen in our society keep a grudge against somebody and think that other people are unjust towards you, then do not be surprised when you see anger rising in your emotional life. And you will not get rid of it by simply trying not to be angry.
If you tried that it would be the same as trying to change fruits when they are already ripe. You have to decide what kind of fruits you want to see in your life and then sow appropriate seeds. If you are unhappy about the fruits that you have now, it is time to admit that the seeds were bad and you will have to uproot the whole tree (your thinking patterns) and plant a new one (new thinking patterns). Only then you can expect tasty fruits in your life. God bless you in your attempts to change your thinking.
