Attitude at work


Attitude at work is the topic of this post on “Thought for the day” blog today. If you have read my post on attitude you should see by now how important our attitude is in any sphere of life. Since we spend around one third of our day at work, attitude towards our jobs and at work is extremely important. Most people fail in their businesses and at their jobs because they have a wrong attitude towards their work. If you really want to be successful at work, you should have an appropriate attitude towards what you do for a living.

Putting your whole heart to what you do

A lot of people live mediocre lives. They work, because they have to, not because they like what they are doing. You cannot perform any task well if you do not put your whole heart into it. And you cannot put your whole heart into it if you do not like it. I am surprised by seeing so many people just merely living for survival. They have found some safe comfort zone in what they do and they can bear that. They do not like what they are doing, but it is not that bad that they could not bear it. That is a very bad thing. It reduces your productivity at work and it destroys you as a personality. If you cannot create and enjoy what you create at your work, you will never be happy with your job. Never!

Do the job of your dreams

I encourage you to choose the job of your dreams. This is another point which you cannot neglect if you want to be productive, successful and feel satisfaction at work. It takes time to find what you want in life, but you have to do it. Being somebody that you are not is one of the biggest obstacles to find pleasure at what you do. So, start dreaming and when you know what you want, then put all your efforts to achieve that. 

Strive for perfection

This type of attitude is very similar to the one I mentioned talking about putting all of your heart to work. However, this one implies much more. It is not just doing your job well, but searching for opportunities to be more creative, innovative and the best in your field. When you do this you grow immensely in your field and expand. This is how you being honest can climb up the ladder of career without stepping over other people heads. Perfection should be your ultimate goal at work. It does not mean you will ever achieve it. However, only having the target you can keep moving towards it and see positive progress.

So much about attitude at work for the time being! I encourage you to read motivational books in order to see changes at your job and business. You have to progress, otherwise you will regress. Your attitude is the key to moving forward and the progress that you long for.

Positive thoughts


Positive thoughts are the topic of my blog ‘Thought for the day’ today. We cannot talk about positive thinking, positive attitude or positive mentality without discussing importance of positive thoughts in developing these on a daily basis. In fact, it would be illogical to talk about positive mental attitude without understanding that thoughts are the foundation of any type of thinking, negative or positive. A set of thoughts constructs a certain paradigm or pattern of thinking, which later controls our lives. Thoughts are like bricks which you build your house of mind with. So, be careful how you build your house and be sure to use positive thoughts as bricks for your house. Of course, if you want your house to be strong. 

Positive thoughts carry positive energy

Most people look at thoughts as some inanimate objects that have no big influence on us. However, nothing can be further from the truth. Thoughts do carry energy which can be used to build your life or destroy it. It is quite obvious that positive thoughts carry positive energy which you can build your life with and see how everything around starts blossoming. On the other hand, negative thoughts are full of negative energy which can ruin your life if you continue dwelling on them for too long. 

Learn to monitor your thoughts

We cannot live with empty minds. There always is some thought in our mind and very often there can be quite many of them even at the same time. You have to study yourself and see which thoughts you can allow to stay in your mind and which you have to get rid of. By monitoring your thoughts you will understand yourself better too. So often we do not understand why we behave as we do. Most of us would like to get rid of some bad character features but are not able to. The answer to the problem lies in our thoughts. 

Get rid of bad thoughts by replacing them with good and positive thoughts

What do you do when you notice bad thoughts in your mind? You have to get rid of them. It is much easier said than done. How do you do it? You simply replace them with good and positive thoughts. It means you change direction of your thoughts. By concentrating on negative you allow negative thoughts to reign in your mind. By concentrating on positive you push all negative thoughts out and invite positive thoughts that immediately start changing your attitude, feelings and reactions to the things that can be of a very negative nature in themselves. 

Invite positive thoughts by looking at everything from a positive point of view

Most people do not understand how they can fill their minds with positive thoughts. That is not difficult at all. Just try to see every situation from a positive point of view. Let us say you have lost a job. It is a serious problem, right? However, this can also be a big opportunity for you to get a much better job or even start your own business and become financially independent. You can concentrate on that or you can start complaining and crying because you have lost your income. Some people when facing a problem immediately lose all hope and some even start drinking. Everything depends on your attitude. I would encourage you not to give in to negative thoughts and feelings, but concentrating on the bright side of life. You will see how this will help you to go through all hardships in life and get a better job.

There can be a lot of things that can be said about positive thoughts. I think I only scratched the surface of the topic. Positive thinking

Positive thinking is the topic of my post on ‘thought for the day’ blog today. As you can see my first posts on the blog deal with very similar topics. I think that all of them are very important. Attitude, positive attitude and other similar themes have to be discussed again and again in order to lead a successful and happy life. There are very many people who praise critical thinking as being closer to the truth and real life than positive mentality. Some even say that critical thinking dominates in Europe and positive thinking dominates in United States. It may be true. However, it is a very big question which type of thinking is closer to the truth and which one makes our lives better. I do believe that both have their weak and strong points, but I choose to living developing positive attitude and mentality rather than looking at every possible question in life from a critical point of view. 

Positive thinking identified

Positive thinking is simply way of thinking which is based on positive expectations and thinking patterns that make you see everything in life in a positive way. I have already mentioned in my previous posts that two different people looking at the same fact can come to two absolutely different conclusions. It is due to the fact that they base their point of view and analysis on different thinking patterns. Some base it on negative thinking patterns, yet others base their beliefs on positive thinking patterns. 

Positive thinking effects on your daily life

Although there have recently been many attacks on those who promote positive thinking, having done proper analysis one can make a conclusion that positive mentality has many more advantages than disadvantages. Since positive attitude has to be connected to all spheres of life, it really influences all areas of your daily life. It does not matter which area you take, positive thoughts leave their positive effect in that area. So, if you are positive about life in general, you are also positive about any area in life. In includes:

  1. Your health.
  2. Your family.
  3. Your business.
  4. Your relationship.
  5. Your emotions.
  6. Your financial situation.
  7. Your future.
  8. Your present.
  9. Your past.
  10. Other people.
  11. And many more…
How can you practice positive thinking on a daily basis?

As positive thinking is very much connected with positive thoughts you have to learn how to control your thoughts on a daily basis. 

Firstly, you will have to learn how to talk to yourself; the process is very often called self-talk. I do not know if you have noticed, but all of us talk to ourselves. I do not mean that we do it audibly. No, we do it in our thoughts. Just watch yourself for a few days and you will notice that. This is the point where you determine what kind of day you are going to have, whether you are going to be happy or unhappy on that day. If you represent every situation for yourself negatively it will immediately have an impact on your daily reality. So, when you get stuck in a traffic jam late for work or any other occasion, instead of getting nervous or angry, try to tell yourself that there are much bigger problems in life or try to say that you are going to get to work in time, or this being late will not cause you big problems. You can think and find out other causes to be positive in that or any other situation. 

Secondly, you have to speak audible words which would be in harmony with your inner self talk

When faced with negative stuff from the people around, react by speaking positive words. It does not matter whether they accept those words or not. It is important that you would retain your positive attitude and a positive outlook towards any situation that comes to your life. Do not give in if other people try to talk you out of your attitude. Speak out what you believe and you will see great progress in your life and the effect of it on those who are around. Who knows, maybe they will change their way of thinking as well!

Thirdly, act in a positive way. Let us say a winter is approaching. You know that many people get cold, flu and many other diseases. Media, people, experts start talking about coming epidemics and the percentage of people who are going to fall ill. You have to think, speak and behave differently. Do not rush buy expensive medicines, which are being pushed by those who want to take advantage of people who are scared and intimidated. Take courage and say that you will not get ill this year. Do other positive actions that would reinforce your positive thinking patterns.

Fourthly, visualize positive outcome in any situation. This is directed towards our future and we have to see it in a positive light. Before we come into our future, our future has to come into us by means of visualizations. Use your imagination to create a future that you desire. Decide what you want in life and take time to be alone by simply seeing yourself entering into those things and getting what you want. Try to feel the reality of it. I know, some people would call me an idiot. Well, let them live in their reality by believing what they see with their physical eyes, repeating what they have heard from ‘experts’ and living mediocre lives. I refuse to live like that and I am going to use God given imagination for entering into my bright future. And so should you do.

20 things to know about positive attitude

Positive attitude is one of the greatest blessings that you can have. It is the topic of the blog "Thought for the day" today. In my previous post I tried to show how important your attitude is and how it can determine whether you are going to be happy or not in this life. In the post I am going to continue the topic, but this time I want to stress the importance of positive attitude in your life. 

Positive attitude versus negative attitude

In order to understand the topic better we need to see positive attitude versus negative attitude. All people depending on their way of thinking can generally be categorized into optimists and pessimists. As you may understand optimists cherish positive mental attitude and pessimists nurture a negative way of thinking. Just by looking at the same thing an optimist will see a bright side of things and a pessimist will see only negative aspects of the very same thing. The thing can be neutral in itself. It is however the outlook of those two kinds of people that shows them things in one way or another. This allows us to make a very clear and undisputable conclusion that both of these attitudes will attract things that people cherishing the attitudes expect. For some people life will bring happiness, luck, joy and satisfaction, for others it will bring misery, failure, sadness and dissatisfaction. 

Positive attitude attracts good things

Positive attitude attracts good things for those that harbor it. God Almighty designed it to be so. He expected us to live by faith and He never intended that there would be such a thing as sin or any other bad thing in life. However, after a human being fell into sin everything started changing. Fear came into man’s heart and he started seeing everything in a different light. However, the principle of faith remained intact. Whatever we believe for we definitely get it. So, if we expect bad things in life we get them sooner or later. But if we expect good stuff we will get it for sure, sooner rather than later. 

How do you know if you have a positive attitude or not?

So, how do you know if you have a positive attitude or not? You can see it by your reactions to various situations in life. Let me give you just a few things that show whether you have it or not.

If you have a positive attitude:

  1. You always expect to succeed.
  2. You always have motivation to do things that can be not very pleasant and interesting.
  3. You easily find causes to be inspired to do things.
  4. You look at bad things and see them as opportunities, not as problems.
  5. You believe that after a failure you will definitely succeed.
  6. You do not lose your heart after several unsuccessful attempts.
  7. You believe yourself. (Yes, we can)
  8. You always see solutions, not problems.
  9. You do not lose self confidence even if you find out yourself in embarrassing situations.
  10. You look at other people positively.
Which spheres of life does a positive attitude influence?

To tell the truth your positive attitude influences all spheres of life. When you cherish positive attitude you start seeing positive changes in:

  1. Character.
  2. Relationship with other people (both close and strangers)
  3. Your health improves.
  4. Your business starts booming.
  5. Your financial situation improves.
  6. You find more friends.
  7. You start achieving your goals.
  8. Your emotions become more stable and you experience more good emotions than bad ones.
  9. Other people change their attitudes towards you.
  10. Situations that used to be insoluble now become soluble.

Attitude

Attitude is everything. Your attitude towards life, environment, people, things, events and even yourself determines the quality of life you are going to have. The things that happen to you and all possible circumstances in your life are not as important as your attitude towards those things and circumstances is. Why? Because you decide how much they are going to influence you. If you choose they can have no long lasting impact at all. It is your reaction, or attitude that determines how much power everything around has towards you. It means your attitude has the greatest power to make you happy or unhappy. 


Attitude formation

Attitude formation starts the day a baby is born into the world. It has no opinion of its’ own, but from the very first day starts collecting information from the environment. The closest environment as you know is our parents. They start telling and explaining to us what is good and what is bad. Since babies do not have an opinion of their own, they accept their parents’ opinions as an absolute truth. They trust their parents as in the beginning their parents are the only people they know. Later in life, their attitudes can be changed or confirmed and strengthened. If the experience that they later have in life about this or that question confirm their parents’ delivered opinion, their initial attitude is confirmed and becomes very strong. Later it rules them and the formed attitude becomes a subconscious machine that makes them to react to something one way or another. 

As our thoughts are a driving force in attitude formation we have to be very careful about the thoughts that are in our minds. If we accept some thoughts as our own, due to our experience or simply because our parents told us to do so, we start forming an attitude towards this thing or that. Thoughts are confirmed and strengthened by feelings and when we have so many confirmations about some question in life we form a rigid attitude and even possibly a belief towards it.


Attitude change

Attitude change is only possible if we are able to change our thoughts and reactions to everything around. We have to imagine and see things in a different light than we used to see earlier. Our attitudes should never stay in status quo. They can be changed. We are like computers that can be reprogrammed. I hear people saying that they cannot do this or that because they are that way. However, you formed yourself that way because you formed your attitude towards that thing in this way. What do you have to do now? You have to reform your attitude. If you want to change your attitude towards certain aspect you have to start talking to yourself that things are different than you used to believe and from now on you are going to believe differently and behave in a new way. Do it on a daily basis until you see positive results. I hope you learned something about importance of your attitude in your life.

Thought for the day


I want to start my first post of the blog “Thought for the day” with a quote of Buddha:” We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” Although I am not a follower of Buddha and consider myself a Christian, I quite agree with the thought that is expressed in the quote. 

Everything starts with thoughts

Everything starts with thoughts! We really are what we think. The thoughts that come to our minds are very important. The thoughts that stay in our minds are even more important. You should see the procedure how a personality is formed. It all starts from a simple thought. This thought has a power to form a person according to information that the thought carries in it. We seldom see thoughts as power bringing vessels, but they are that way. Bad thoughts will make you a bad person. Good thoughts that stay in your mind on a daily basis will finally make you a good person. 

Thoughts lead to speaking of words

Thoughts lead to speaking of words. Although we have been born in sin, the level and condition of our lives depends a lot on the quality of thoughts that stay in our minds. If certain thought stays in our minds long enough we start speaking it. That is the second stage: thoughts form our way of speaking. It is carried out by means of words. Words carry release the power of the thought that has been in our minds and strengthens the power of the thought inside us. 

Thoughts create certain thinking patterns

Thoughts create certain thinking patterns. If we go on with the thoughts long enough certain thinking patterns develop which become parts of our personalities and we start reacting based on those patterns. People very often do not understand why they behave the way they behave or why this or that person has a bad habit which is destroying his life, but the person is still not able to get rid of the habit, but sinks even deeper into it. It does not matter how complicated the situation might look to you; the answer to the question is very simple. The person has developed certain thinking patterns and now those patterns control his life and force him to behave in one way or another. 

Thoughts and words lead to actions

Thoughts and words lead to actions. Behavior is the final result of your thoughts and words. You behave the way you behave because you have thought that way. You sometimes might think that some of your actions are spontaneous and have no connection with your personality and thinking patterns. However, nothing can be further from the truth. Everything is stored in your mind by means of your previous thoughts, thinking patterns, beliefs, images and experience. So, you simply react in the way that your previous experience dictates you. It can happen very fast, but it does happen. 

How can you change?

So, how can you change? Change your thoughts and your personality will change. Your words will change and consequently your behavior will change. True changes start from inside and the inside that has to change is your thought life. When that changes you change. I hope you can see now that you are what you think. I also hope that the post will help you to experience more significant changes in the future if you apply the knowledge that you have received. Thanks for reading my thought for the day.
