Thought for the day 30th of April 2011

“I have learned to use the word impossible with the greatest caution” by Wernher von Braun.

In most cases impossible is only the thing of time, not the thing of status quo. What may seem impossible today, maybe more than possible tomorrow. I have also noticed that in many cases a lot of people confuse the word impossible with the word difficult. I believe you see that these two words are different. We don’t like difficulties and when something takes a lot of efforts on our part we tend to call a thing impossible to do. But that’s not true.

We simply do not want to do the thing and choose the easiest way to solve the situation – tag it as impossible to solve. If you do not want something to do, don’t call it impossible. It is pretty dangerous, because it can become a habit and you will start calling things impossible that are part of the plan to get to your dreams. I know that people also try to call things that involve risk taking as impossible. That’s also pretty bad thing as not everything that involves risk taking is impossible. Vice versa, most of them are possible. It, of course takes a lot of thinking, believing, patience and efforts to achieve.

Even if you fail a lot of times, it does not mean that the thing is impossible. You will understand it, when you finally succeed. There are things, that are not possible to accomplish with human, natural power, but it is absolutely possible to do by the power of faith. You have to learn to believe that ‘everything is possible for those who believe’. This is a spiritual law that has been working since the creation of the world. Everything is possible if you believe. Do you want to believe that? I hope you do.

Faith puts us into contact with invisible power that has been there forever and that power starts working for our advantage. Tap into it and start watching how impossible becomes possible. Then you will start seeing how things beyond your wildest dreams become a daily life reality. And faith starts in your mind when you allow positive thoughts to fill your mind and they become your second nature. So, when you use the word ‘impossible’ next time, do it with the greatest caution. You do not want to limit yourself where it is absolutely not necessary.

Zeal brings success

Thought for the day 29th of April 2011

Success is due less to ability than to zeal” by Charles Buxton.

So, you want success in life? And you complain that you don’t have enough abilities, talents, opportunities, right people, rich parents, help from others and etc? Well, I have really good news for you. You do not need a lot of those… . You must have some zeal in your life, some passion to accomplish great things, some desire that would drive you forward and a big and clear dream of what you want in life. Then success will come to you and you won’t have to go to it.

Indifference and apathy are the greatest enemies of success. They turn to nothing all talents, abilities, opportunities and etc. You need an ‘engine’ that would take you to the job of your dreams, success in business, family, relationships, creativity and etc. And the ‘engine’ is not your inborn abilities, but your inside enthusiasm that pushes you beyond your talents and your present circumstances.

Some say:”I need one million bucks to start a business”. Well if you had one million maybe you would not need to start business anymore. It would only give you more security and be a motive to continue staying in your comfort zone. You have to start boiling with enthusiasm from inside and go after your dreams. Most people value security more than freedom. I think that they have very little of the first and none of the second. If you are afraid to lose what you have, I believe you are on your way to lose it. Although I am not for stupid risk, but I know that you cannot achieve anything in life without risking. So, think is it really things from outside that keep you from getting success or it is your lack of enthusiasm to do something?

Inner strength is measured by what you can bear

Thought for the day 28th of April 2011

“Physical strength is measured by what we can carry; spiritual by what we can bear” author unknown.
Yesterday I started talking about various powers and strengths that we can and should have. Today I want to add a few thoughts on the topic. Our souls, in the same manner as our bodies have a certain amount of strength. If you know something about bodybuilding you should be aware of the fact that physical muscles grow when we lift weights. We need physical pressure for our bodies to get stronger. You cannot just lie in your bed and expect for your muscles to grow naturally (to say nothing of losing your weight). You need to exercise.

What about strength that our souls have. They have as much as many problems, stress, temptations, troubles, failures, successes and etc. they can endure. Our souls also need spiritual pressure (or pressure that comes on our minds) in order to become stronger. No pain, no gain. We do need challenges for our personalities to grow and become stronger and victorious. When you cope with those challenges your soul becomes stronger. When you fail, you stay at the same level you were before the challenge came.

Unless you move somewhere to some uninhabited island you will always have to face difficulties, problems and challenges. That’s how this world functions. There are always forces that go against you. However, you should never forget that having a positive frame of mind you can conquer all of those forces and enjoy the process of conquering. Don’t look at difficulties as something awful. Take them as opportunities to build your spiritual muscles. I do not mean to say that difficulties mean doing something that you hate all of your life. No, but going after your dreams you will face a lot of difficulties. Look at them as weights for your spiritual muscles. Good luck in developing your inner strength.

Thought for the day 27th of April 2011

“Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in the muscles” by Alex Karras.

Young people want to be cool and tough. I believe everyone wants to be strong and able to defend himself. However, physical is only one type of strength that there are. And even it is usually not enough when we speak about hard physical work. There has to be an inner strength, strength of a character, strength of the mind, opinion, attitude in order for you to carry difficult tasks that require manual labor.

Take a guy who has built his muscles up and offer him something that tempts him a lot and see whether his muscles will help him to fight against the temptation. So, physical strength is one of the strengths that we need, but not the most important one. If you have a vision, purpose and determination to pursue those and doing all your best to achieve those, you belong to the narrow circle of the strongest people of the world. Most people simply drift aimlessly in the direction of the crowd without asking themselves where and why they are going where they are going. Don’t live like that. Set an aim to pursue, have a positive attitude to achieve it and do what you are supposed to do to turn your dream into reality.

Perfect and permissible will of God

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Thought for the day 26th of April 2011

I never really look for anything. What God throws my way comes. I wake up in the morning and whichever way God turns my feet, I go” by Pearl Bailey.

I agree with most of quotations that I present in my blog posts. This is one of the few that I would not agree with. Of course, you can practice this kind of attitude and live like that, but I am not sure if you are going to achieve something that you want to achieve. In fact, you would never plan anything if you have this kind of attitude, because ‘God’ has planned everything on your behalf. I don’t believe He has.

Theologians usually distinguish two kinds of God’s will: perfect and permissible. If you are after a perfect will you can be sure that when you are in it, all the best that there can be happens in your life. It takes time, patience, and willingness on your part to know this will of God for it to be fulfilled. There can be a lot of things on the way till you get to this kind of living, but it is worthwhile trying.

Permissive will of God is something that is far from being perfect. I am convinced that the majority part of the world is living in this kind of will. In fact, you don’t have to do anything to live in it. Just follow the attitude that is expressed in the quote in the beginning of the post and you will be living in this type of will. Anything can happen to you in this kind of situation. It is not because God wills this, but because you do not care to seek for His perfect will. So, He allows many things to happen in your life.

To tell the truth, most of it is simply the law of attraction in power: negative thoughts attract negative things and that’s it. If you looked at the nature that God created you would see that God created all of it for our enjoyment. There is nothing in creation that was meant to harm you in any way. It is due to the fall into sin that those bad things came into being. However, God provided us a way out of them. I do not know about you but I believe that Jesus Christ was meant to be the way to God out of all our sins. He is the path that leads to the perfect will of God. Pray for the perfect will of God to be in your life. Don’t be satisfied with what happens now. Don’t give up if you don’t see fast results. They will come.
