Thought for the day 26th of September 2011

„...neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our LordRomans 8:39.

I know that God’s love for us much bigger than we can imagine. We often try to decide how much He loves us based on how much of His love we feel. However, our feelings are some of the most unstable things and a very bad way to determine whether God loves us or not. The best way to see His love is to understand that He gave His Son for you and me. That’s how the depth of His love is shown to us.

So, do not trust your feelings. In good times they may be telling you one thing, in bad times you have to believe in God’s love. I am so glad that nothing can separate us from Him. Well, there is one thing. It is our sins. If we do not confess them and continue living in them. But if they are confessed, they are forgiven and there are no barriers between us and Him. So, rejoice for you are acceptable to God.

Thought for the day 24th of September 2011

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faithHebrews 12:1-2

People have always needed examples to follow. They choose various people and model their lives after those people. They read their books, listen to them talk, try to see the secret of their success. In this way the followers finally become similar to their ‘models’ in their thinking, speaking and behavior.

Christians have set Jesus Christ as their teacher, model and even Lord of their lives. They want to become like Him in their thinking, speaking and behavior. The very word Christian means ‘Christ-like’. I also try to pattern my life after Jesus. It is not easy, but everything is possible for those who believe. He gave His Spirit to His disciples to help them to achieve the purpose.

Where are you looking at? What do you place your focus on? Whom are you following? If you centre your thoughts on something or somebody for a long time you will start becoming more and more like that person. So, choose whom you model carefully, for after modeling results appear it will be difficult to change back if you do not like the way you have become.

I hope you enjoyed thought for the day.

Thought for the day 23rd of September 2011

Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yoursMark 11:22-24.

I believe I have already talked on the verses a few times. But these are some of my favorite verses and I enjoy coming back to them again and again. Faith has great promises. It is a spiritual principle. God works according to this principle. God is full of faith. Whatever He says, He believes that it will happen. And it happens. God never doubts anything He says. And He always means what He says.

He wants to bring us to the same level too. He wants to live us by faith. He wants us to ask Him in faith. Why? Faith is part of Him. He likes faith and this is the only way we can please Him. If you want to please Him you must trust Him. Never doubt His words. He will stand to it that His words will be fulfilled. Have faith in God!

Thought for the day 22nd of September 2011

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to GodRomans 15:7.

God loved us to the point that He gave His Son to die for our sins. He did not have to do it. He could have left us to die in our sins. However, He decided to accept us, to forgive us and to give us eternal life. His life changing power is supposed to transform us from inside out and make us like God is. We should accept one another.

I do not mean we have to tolerate bad stuff (sin). I mean we have to learn how to forgive each other and forget the bad that has been done towards us. That’s how God behaved towards us. We have done a lot of bad things towards Him. But He has forgiven everything. And He continues doing that. And He will continue doing that. He himself is an example for us how we could forgive our family members, friends and even our enemies absolutely everything. It is easier said than done, but I do not believe we have another choice if we want to live in spiritual freedom. Let God help you to do that.
Hope you enjoyed the thought of the day.

Thought for the day 20th of September 2011

“We are the choices that we make.”

Yes, we really are! We first think, then we speak, then act and make decisions. The behavior finally becomes a habit and we become slaves of our habits. This is how we are the choices that we make. So, if you do not like the way you are and want to make a different kind of self you should start from your thoughts. Change them.

When that processed is finished you start changing your words. You start speaking your thoughts in an audible way. Then you act according to your words and your thoughts. That’s how all the chain of changes are implemented and you become a completely different personality. Make a choice to change your thoughts. Do it today.

I hope you enjoyed thought for the day post.
