11 patience quotes (some funny) on waiting, life, faith and hope
quotes is the topic of the post on the blog ‘Thought for
the day’ today. We live in a world that is moving very fast. Unfortunately,
people do not ask themselves where they are going and why they are going so
fast. Do they need to hurry? Where are they hurrying? I do not know. Most of
the world is motivated by the motto:”I know what I want and I want it now”. Unfortunately,
if you follow the principle you will end up in serious trouble for mottoes like
that arouse your passions and carnal desires, not something that will bless you
in the long run. We need patience to get great things not in a sinful way, but
in a godly way. Hope the quotes will help you.
1. “Let nothing disturb thee; Let nothing dismay
thee; All thing pass; God never changes. Patience attains all that it strives
for. He who has God finds he lacks nothing: God alone suffices” by St.
Teresa of Avila.
I saw a lot of people
destroyed by their desires and lack of patience. I really believe you need to
find God in your life first and then your desires be transformed and won’t
become a curse for you but a blessing. He has prepared a good destiny for you
and you need to find out what it is. Allow those carnal desires to pass away
and godly desires to arise in your heart. Then be patient for it takes time to
reach those. Do not give up if that does not happen very fast.
2. “Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself.
Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections but instantly set
about remedying them - every day begin the task anew” by Saint Francis de Sales.
We mostly get discouraged and lose
patience to go on when we see our failures and very small progress in our
attempts to reach our goals. Learn to forget your failures. You have God’s
grace renewed every day. This grace enables you to start where you have failed
and achieve victory today. So, if you feel discouraged today, know that God
loves you and He gives you a new beginning each day.
“Never run after a bus or a man. There
will always be another one” author unknown.
We sometimes think that this or that opportunity is
the only one in our lives. Therefore, we run after it. I have good news for you;
opportunities come almost every day and if you missed one due to your absent
mindedness or any other reason, don’t be upset there will always be another
one. God is the God of second, third, fourth and etc. chances. He forgives you
when you fail. So, if you have failed, He can restore you and give you new
beginning. Just trust Him and be patient.
4. “God gave a
bag of misery and he gave a bite of health. God gives trouble and he gives
patience” Lithuanian proverb.
respect with humility and complaint with patience” Lithuanian proverb.
6. “Asinus asino et sus sui pulcher”
(Latin maxim) “An ass is beautiful for an ass and a pig is
beautiful to a pig”.
7. “Who does
not have patience in small things will definitely destroy big deal too” by
8. “In order
to protect angelic character one must have devilish patience” author
9. “Wisdom is
grounded on patience” by Plato.
dolori remedium est patientia (Latin maxim) “Patience is remedy from all pains”.
is the science of hope” by Luc de Clapier.
