Thought for the 15th of September 2011

Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.  Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live onMark 12:41-44.

God usually sees things differently than we do. What is much for us humans, may not be much for God, and what may see very little for us, may see much for God. He doesn’t just look at things and exterior circumstances. What He looks at is a human heart and motives we do things with. He knows what we value, how precious are things for us. He saw the poor widow that sacrificed everything she had and said that she gave most.

Let us learn to look at things the way God sees them.
