Thought for the day 19th of April 2011

Consider how much more you often suffer from your anger and grief, than from those very things for which you are angry and grieved” by Marcus Antonius.

We often think that we have a right to be angry about something or somebody and most often we feel righteous when we pour the anger on the object, which in our opinion causes us to be angry. However, have we asked ourselves who suffers most in this situation? Is it the object at which we direct our anger? He/she might not even know that we are angry about him/her. So, the object, most probably does not feel the consequences of your anger at all.

Who feels them then? It is us, who entertain anger in our hearts. The biggest damage that the anger causes is for us, who decide to be angry. It is a very destructive emotion that causes our bodies to break, if it is not dealt with in proper time. Anger releases chemical elements that eventually might cause a lot of destructive diseases in our brains and bodies. Why not forget the wrong that the person has done to you? You will be much happier yourself. I know it can be difficult, but it will be much easier than to carry the anger around. It is your choice. Drop negative emotions and suffer no more.
