Thought for the day 10th of April 2011

We awaken in others the same attitude of mind we hold toward them” by Elbert Hubbard.

This is another powerful aspect of the law of attraction. We can cause people to behave the way we expect them to. Of course, if those people are strong personalities and they are able to resist influence of other people opinions, attitudes and expectation, this will not work. However, it very often does work as we influence each other by our attitudes. I do not know if you have noticed but very often we communicate not we the person we talk to (and who is standing in front of us), but with the image of the person we have in our minds.

This image is very fast created when we see a person behave in a certain way. It is usually enough for us to see that particular type of behavior once, sometimes twice to form our opinion about the person. For example, he is weird, nervous, boring and etc. However, the next time the person might behave absolutely differently. Unfortunately, we do not see it and continue having bad impression about him/her. When we meet the person next time, we have certain expectations about his behavior and somehow he is subconsciously pushed to behave in this way. It is pretty close to magic and we should avoid doing that at all cost.

We have to form a positive attitude towards other people and expect good behavior and thinking patterns from them. It does not mean we should set aside critical thinking and absolutely ignore facts and current truth about the person. We should not be naïve. However, we should always believe that a person can change and we should always cherish the attitude about the person, which could raise all the best in him.
