Thought for the day 12th of May 2011

There is a saying among prospectors:”Go out looking for one thing and that’s all you will ever find” by Robert Flaherty.

This kind of attitude has both advantages and disadvantages. From the positive perspective if you are looking for something specific, you are focused and it helps you to find the thing. Concentrating on one thing also helps you to do your work better. Multitasking can be a pretty problem for your brains. You become divided, scattered and absent minded for you cannot efficiently think about one hundred things at a time.

It is bad in terms of opportunities. If you focus only on one thing and you are sure that is the only way to do it, you limit yourself. There are a lot of ways to do most of things. If you want to go out into business you will have more than one thing on your mind. The more ideas you have at your disposal, the better. The most important thing for you is to be open to new ideas. New ideas and implementation of them distinguish you from others and give you advantage over them. So, keep looking for … a lot of new ideas.
