Thought for the day 15th of August 2011
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things” Philippians 4:8.
In the passage apostle Paul tries to encourage believers to look at their focus in terms of thinking. He wants to turn their thought life in the right direction. Why? Because you are as you think. So, if your thoughts are noble, right, pure and lovely, you become noble, pure, right and lovely. And vice versa, if your thoughts are arrogant, foul, nasty and wrong you are shaped according to the nature of those thoughts.
I have written on the thing a lot on my earlier posts and I wanted to remind you about that. If you want to change your life, change your thoughts. Thoughts are the material that your character is constructed from. Be careful about those ‘bricks’ that you put in the structure of your character for when the character is cemented it becomes very difficult to deconstruct it. It is possible. As long as person is alive he/she can change, but do not postpone those changes for tomorrow. If you see something that you do not like in your character, start today.
