Everybody begins at the bottom

I understood that no matter what specialized skill you might attain, everybody had to start at the bottom, becoming familiar with basic nuts and bolts—that is, turning raw materials into finished goods. Along the way, you could move on to proficiency, either staying at that rung or developing a specialty. That, too, could become your highest conquered level of skill, or you could move further by diversifying and finding methods of innovation, and eventually you could arrive at mastery” by Chris Gardner.

It does not matter how big your dreams and targets are you will have to start from the first step to cover a journey of thousand miles. The same can be said about a career, success, relationships and any other area. You start building from ground floor and go up one floor at a time. You start from nothing and create your own masterpiece. Just do not give up on your way up. There is a huge difference between those who inherited wealth and those who made themselves. Experience teaches you to value things differently than those who just easily get everything. Do not despise small beginnings. All ‘giants’ have started their masterpieces in that way. There are no shortcuts to success.

Developing self confidence

Today I will just give you a quote from “Start where you are” with no comments of mine. It deals with the topic of self confidence.

There was a time when I assumed these super confident people were that way because they were born with added doses of self-assured, self possessed qualities. Yet in my conversations with many individuals who have attained levels of mastery that assumption has proven wrong. And what I’ve come to discover, through this very lesson that core strengths can be forged on ordinary anvils of all kinds, is that confidence is definitely an acquired resource” by Chris Gardner.

Initiative and hard work brings success

No matter what your current or future field of endeavor, whenever you take the initiative to make of yourself and your life what you will, and back it up, you’re in possession of special knowledge about how to succeed in the marketplace” by Chris Gardner

I enjoy reading the book by Chris Gardner “Start where you are”. He shares how he went from homeless to a successful Wall Street operator, excellent motivator and wonderful writer. One of the rules is that you have to take responsibility for your life and then take initiative to pursue what you want. When you start doing that you will understand that nothing in the world can replace hard work. That is essential key for our success.

If you reject this aspect the only way for you to be successful is to win a lottery or marry a rich guy/girl.

Of course, even when you work hard there will be trial and error, but when you finally make it you will have self confidence and nobody will be able to take that away from you. Even if you go bankrupt you will have courage and faith that you will succeed again. Let God inspires every one of us for hard work in our pursuits of success.
