Failure is an Option

“Even as far back as when I started acting at 14, I know I've never considered failure” by Jennifer Lawrence.

We look at successful and rich people and subconsciously (sometimes consciously) think that they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Some are, most aren’t. And success or failure does not really depend on our genes and parents. We have seen a lot of people waste their parents’ inheritances in no time.

I would not want to single out a single key to success or failure, but one really stands out from the rest and it is a choice. Some people get better opportunities, others worse ones, but all of us have a choice to pursue things or careers we want.

If you know what you want, the rest depends on your determination to pursue it till you get it. So, let’s make choices about our futures and not allow others to make that decision for us.

Accept Failure but Keep on Trying

“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying” by Michael Jordan.

These are the words from the mouth of 7 times NBA champion and the best basketball player that have ever lived Michael Jordan. Even he admitted that he failed. These words should comfort us. However, that should not stop us. We cannot just stay at the level of failure. We should be on the level of ever trying. Not giving up is the key character feature of great achievers. Remember, you do not really fail, you just learn how to do things a different way or how not to do them.

Failure Is the Source of Success

“Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm” by Winston Churchill.

I remember reading a book that was called “Failure – the womb of success”. Most of us are not geniuses who can achieve things easily. It takes pain and a lot of failed projects before we create something really valuable. The person who created a light bulb failed around ten thousand times before he got it. However, he did not look at the thing as failure, but he took it as a lesson how not to do something. So, you may miss thousands of time in life, but if you don’t give up you are going to succeed in the end.
