Thought for the day 7th of June 2011

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort” by Herm Albright.

Positive attitude does not solve all problems

If you expect a positive attitude to solve all of your problems you will be disappointed. It will not. A positive mental attitude is not a magic stick that creates whatever miracles you wish. It creates miracles but it is not the only solution to your problems. It is the beginning of a solution that leads to other steps which are of course connected with implementation of positive thinking techniques.

Positive thinking is the beginning of solution to your problems

However, it will definitely help you solve more problems than a negative or a critical attitude. Positivism has proved to help people solver various problems in various spheres of life: finances, relationship, health and etc. while negative thinking and criticism limits your abilities to cope with your problems and achieve your dreams. This may sound very banal but positive attitude has power to create positive results and negative attitude to create negative results and this is simply due to the fact that both of them have magnetic power to attract things according to our expectation. Sounds logical? It is.

Think positively and think negatively is natural

Most people are annoyed by those who think positively because they are convinced that optimists behave unnaturally by trying to stay positive under all circumstances and speak positive words all the time. They find it very natural to be negative most of the time and speak all the negative words and express negative feelings that they experience. They forget or do not believe one thing, that whatever type of attitude they have, it did not come by chance but was accepted and developed over a period of time. Therefore, it is very natural for a positive thinker to think positively because he has been doing it for a long time. And vice versa, it is very natural for a pessimist to think negatively, because he has been doing it for years

You can change your way of thinking any time

So, what is natural for one may not be absolutely alien for another. However, what is natural for you today maybe not natural anymore tomorrow. It is you who decide what you like and what you dislike. When people see others who are very strong in their opinion about the power of positive thinking they get angry. They do not believe those people and think that they are lying. Courage of optimists makes pessimists really nervous for they often feel challenged by bold and radical statements of those who follow the laws of attraction.

Follow the universal laws

I do not worry about other people anger towards me due to my beliefs and attitudes. It is their business. It is their duty to study the laws of universe and the Creator and to follow them or reject them. I am not going to follow crowd mentality and so shouldn’t you. You have nothing to lose by leaving your negativism and criticism and adopting positive attitude. On the contrary you have a lot to gain. So, why not accept the attitude now?

Origins of humans

Thought for the day 6th of June 2011

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience” by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.

Origins of humans

I do not know what concept you have about human origins, but I believe we were created by God and did not come by process of evolution or any other way. I am absolutely sure that there is an intelligent mind that has put His creative energy to make us. He breathed His breath into the first being and the humanity came into existence. So, if you were upset because you thought that your forefathers were monkeys, I have good news for you: they were not. God is your true Creator and He can be your father. He loves you and wants you to be like him in nature, thinking and behavior.

We are spiritual beings

When He breathed in His breath into first humans they became spiritual beings. We being descendants of them are spiritual beings too. As spiritual beings we need spiritual experiences and spiritual food to feed ourselves. The Word of God is our food and most of spiritual experiences come when we pray and meditate on the Word of God. That helps you to stay in touch with your Creator on a daily basis and be sensitive to spiritual world surrounding you. You do not have to be afraid of it for Lord your God is your protection. Trust Him, pray to Him and thank Him every day.

Obstacles for spiritual life development

What separates you from living a spiritual life and pushes you to sinful human level? The answer is in the question. It is a sin. Sin is anything that is alien to God, but might be very pleasant to human beings. I know that I might sound a little old fashioned here, but sin still exists and tries to make unlike God by perverting our thoughts and spiritual nature. It is very effectively done when we concentrate only on material things. Then we fall asleep to spiritual reality and forget what our purpose in life is.

In this way we become gods out of ourselves and deny our Creator. We also become slaves to our earthly desires and passions. What is the outcome of it? Instead of being happy we become miserable for we disconnect ourselves from the source of happiness which is in God. If this has happened to you, you should go back to God and reestablish your connection. I believe that Jesus is that path that leads you to God. So, ask Him to forgive you and you will be forgiven.

Develop relationship with your Creator

Then develop your relationship with Him. Pray to Him, read His word and trust Him in all situations that arise in your life. You are a spiritual being. Be connected to your spiritual source – eternal God. Being in union with him you will experience joy beyond human comprehension. Then your human life will gain new meaning. You will understand that this life is only a preparation for the life to come. That life will be something that you will not be able to imagine in your wildest dreams. So, be always reminded of your true identity – you are a spiritual being.

Thought for the day 5th of June 2011

One person with a belief is equal to a force of 99 who have only interests” by John Stuart Mill.

Belief is more powerful than interests

Most people think that they need a lot of people in order to do something big. They believe that quantity of people is the key to success. It would only be true in one case: if those people were dedicated to their mission and believed that they could achieve that. If that is not the case, it does not matter how many people you have at your disposal, you will hardly be able to do what you want. In fact, you will have a lot more problems with that amount with people for there would be too many disagreements, different opinions and also criticism.

Be surrounded with people of similar beliefs

What you need is: to be full of faith (belief) yourself and people around you having the same beliefs as you do. If you do not have faith in what you do, those who are around you will definitely not have it too for you cannot give what you do not have. However, if you have faith in what you do you will be able to transfer that faith to others for faith is a catching substance in the same way as fear and doubt are. So, get yourself filled with faith, courage, vision and cherish dream based (not fear based) mentality. Then try to search for people who have the same frame of mind and mix together with them. This will reinforce your belief system and accelerate the coming of results.

Interests are not enough

Why are interests not enough? Because you do not give your full heart for pursuing your interests, but you do give your full heart and attention for pursuing your beliefs. Throughout ages under various dictatorial regimes people have given up their lives for their beliefs for they refused to renounce their beliefs even at the threat of death. Today, most people choose security and compromise rather than standing for what they believe. That‘s why they never accoplish great things, for you cannot be a hypocrite and bless humanity with great accomplishments. You have to be true to yourself and your beliefs in order to be a blessing for others

Beliefs is the heart of our inner being

Beliefs, not interests are at the core of our psychological system. They have the power to shape our personalities and allow us to become what we finally become. Beliefs also have the magnetic-attractive power to attract things and people into our lives we believe for. I do not mean that it is some kind of magic. No, by no means. You do not use your faith to attract this or that person into your life to become your friend even if the person does not want it. No, you believe that the right people will come into your life and God Almighty will bring them to you. And they will be willing to do that for they will be sharing the same kind of thinking as you have. When a group of people that have the same frame of mind get together they become a very powerful body in society. As you may understand this power has to be used to do good, not bad. Good luck in keeping to your beliefs.

Live your own life

Saturday, June 4, 2011

Thought for the day 4th of June 2011

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary” by Steve Jobs.

Live your own life

What a meaningful statement about life from Steve Jobs! One of the most difficult thing to do is to really live your life. Most people never find who they really are because they are too much concentrated on other people opinions. Somehow being social beings we very often get into trouble because we think too much on what other people think, believe, say and do. If you accept somebody else's thinking, you accept somebody else's life, for we live the way we think and if we think other people thoughts we also live their lives, not ours.

Listen to your inner voice

You have your own inner voice which you have to listen to. When and if you do, you start hearing plans about your life. This little silent voice will talk about your dreams and direction that you should take in life and not about other people dreams and ambitions. You should have a guide in your life, but one the most important guides that you can have in your life is your spirit and intuition. Only your heart can now what you really need and want from life. Other people cannot tell you this for their hearts will lead them in a completely different direction than your heart would do. And of course, you cannot follow that. That is their way and path in life and let them follow it. You follow yours.

You need courage to follow your heart

You will need a lot of courage to do it. Why? Because you are unique and your call in life is different from other people. The biggest problem is that people don‘t follow their unique calls in life but follow others and in this way only a handful of people really fullfil their dreams and achieve their purposes while others simply follow the crowd without ever finding who they really are. That's why they are suprised when somebody else around starts doing something unique and unusual. Some even try to stop the person. Never do that. Better follow the person, learn from him and then go find your own path in life. And then, follow it without making any compromises.

Concentrate on primary things in life

I do not want to belittle other people opinions and importance of them in your life, but to tell the truth they are really secondary in terms of your call. They maybe very valuable when you do not know how to behave in this or that situations, but they will hardly ever help you to find who you really are. Only your heart can help you. Therefore, concentrate on primary things and spend some time doing secondary ones. In this way you will always have balance in life.

You are here for a special reason

Friday, June 3, 2011

Thought for the day 3rd of June 2011

We are all here for some special reason. Stop being a prisoner of your past. Become the architect of your future” by Robin Sharma.

Why do you think you are in this planet? What is your purpose in life? Are you here by accident? I believe we have to answer those questions for ourselves and the sooner we do it the better. Only after answering them we can lead a meaningful life and not exist like ‘vegetables’. I believe that both all humanity and each separate individual have specific purposes to achieve

Purposes that all humanity has to pursue are more general and they are: learn to love, believe; help those who are in needing, continue creating and progressing on the things that have been left for us by our predecessors. Each person should have more specific targets in life that would be unique for that particular individual. You cannot copy somebody else. If you do, you will be leading somebody else’s life. Specific targets may involve such things as: work you will do, country you will live in, family you create, friends you make, businesses you start and develop and many more. You have to spend time to find specific purpose in your life.

One thing that may hinder you (after you found what you want to do) is your past. By saying past I have in mind your past mistakes, failures, tragedies and other things that may have negatively impacted your self image and perspective for the future. Most people are not moving anywhere because they are bound to their past. Any time they want to make s step forward, reminiscences from the past arise in their memories and stop them from making the step they intended to make. In this way they become prisoners of their past.

Don’t allow your past to control your future. Don’t allow it to bind your present. Past is dead and the only thing which is to come is your future. The only thing which you have now is the everlasting present. Why should you be killing your time by regretting something you cannot change anymore? Why should you concentrate on past mistakes if the past is gone? Situation has changed; you can make a difference today. Don’t cry over missed opportunities, but concentrate on the coming ones.

Instead of stating the fact that you failed to do something in the past start creating the future that is to come. We only enter the future which we have created or the one that others drag us into. That’s how this world functions, if you don’t take control over your life, somebody else will do it on your behalf. There are not empty spaces in universe. If you are not a master over your life, somebody else will be. Start constructing your future today by means of thinking, visualization and positive affirmations. This will build a good platform for you to enter into the future that you want to have. Start today.

Thought for the day 2nd of June 2011

Is life so wretched? Isn’t it rather your hands, which are too small, your vision which is muddled? You are the one who must grow up?” by Dag Hammarskjold.

So, what is your life like? Is it really wretched? I think I have repeated the thing a lot of times that things aren’t bad or wretched out of themselves. If you think that it is and something has control of it, it means that you are not in control of your life and anything from outside can control and direct the way you are or the way you feel. Let me remind you what you have probably heard thousands of times: you are in charge of your life and only you allow or prohibit something or somebody to take control of your life.

I like the idea of ‘hands being too small’. It talks about our unwillingness to do things that could bring change into our lives. Yes, various powers want to control your life, but it is you who hand them this control. They cannot take it by force without your permission. I do not mean to say that nothing bad can happen in your life. No! I mean to say that the thing cannot cripple your life and make it wretched if you do not allow it to do so. If some powers of the world start going against you do something to stop them or to use the fact to your advantage. Anything bad can be used for your benefit with the help of your approach to it and your faith that every evil thing can eventually turn to be good.

The author of the quote also talks about muddled vision. That is another thing that can make our life wretched. If you do not know where you are going or you don’t have a goal in life, the powers I have been talking about will carry you in the direction you don’t want to go. What do you do when your vision becomes muddled or you do not have it at all? Calm down, sit down and start thinking about your desires. What would you want to achieve in life? What kind of work would you want to do? Occasionally it could be good to list things you would not want to do, but try not to concentrate on what you don’t want. Concentrate on what you do want.

Time will come when you start seeing clearly what you want. Maybe it can take more than a week or a month to figure out what direction you want to take in life, but you will finally arrive at that understanding. Then will come a time to make a plan how you are going to achieve it. Follow the same procedure: calming down, sitting down, thinking about steps which you think would be necessary in order to achieve the vision. The last step that you will have to take is doing what you have planned. That’s it!
So, don’t complain about wretched life. Grow up and change things you want to see different. I hope you will see results pretty fast.

Finding joy

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Thought for the day 1st of June 2011

There are souls in this world which have the gift of finding joy everywhere and of leaving it behind them when they go” by Frederick Faber.

How much people are ready to pay to find or get joy in life! That’s what we are doing when we go for various kinds of entertainment: movies, music concert, play different games, eat delicious meals and desserts, drink tasty drinks and do some other stuff to relax and enjoy ourselves. We need joy! It is natural for us to seek for it every day. Some even use illegal ways to get it: drugs, illicit sex, gambling and etc. However, all of the above mentioned ways give you joy only for a short period of time. You need something that would enable you to have joy ALL THE TIME.

What is that miraculous ‘something’ that allows you to find and have joy all the time? It is your attitude for searching joy everywhere you go. Frederick Faber talks about people who have the gift of doing that. I agree that some people have the gift from the birth, but what if you don’t have? Are you doomed to spend a lot of money every week and month to get short term joy? What if you don’t have money? Does that mean that you will not be able to have it at all and always be unhappy and sorrowful?

By no means! You can develop this gift all by yourself. Every one of us has a seed that could grow up into a fruit of joy. The seed is your attitude, willingness and desire to see the beautiful side of life. When you see it and concentrate on it every day, you will have joy daily. It does not mean that there is no evil side in life. There is, but you don’t concentrate on it, for by concentrating on it you are not solving anything, just making everything worse for yourself.

Again, understand me correctly, I do not mean to say that you have to be indifferent to other people pain. That would be very egoistic! You do sympathize with them and try to help them whenever you can, but you don’t allow yourself to be overpowered by grief, misery, skepticism and negativity. You look at this beautiful world and it arouses joy in your heart. It also does another thing.

When you have joy, you are able to share it with others. You cannot give something you do not have. Therefore, only those people who have joy daily are able to share it with others, who do not have it. Our world needs people who have the fruit of joy. When I look at people in my country I see how unhappy they are. Nobody is smiling even if things are not really bad. They are angry, dissatisfied and have no hope for the future. Who can give it to them? Those that have it. Let us be people who cherish joy in our hearts and share it with others.
